titleOfInvention | Automatic correction of blood analysis parameter results affected by interference by exogenous blood substitutes in whole blood, plasma, and serum |
abstract | The present invention describes a method for automatically correcting interference of blood chemistry results with plasma or serum using automatic blood analysis of a whole blood sample. Such interference errors are due to the presence of exogenous oxygen-carrying blood substitutes in the transfused blood sample. Automated methods are performed using automated blood analysis to correct for errors due to interference in blood chemistry determinations to provide accurate, direct and rapid quantification of these parameters. Automated interference correction is convenient for medical and clinical use after transfusion of blood to the patient following trauma or surgery, and for the repeated or regular monitoring of blood samples from convalescent patients. It is convenient. The method of the present invention can also be used to correct for any in vivo or any in vitro hemolysis where both the chemical test results and the cell-by-cell measurement are performed on blood from the same blood collection tube. . |
