A conjugated polymer having good solubility and semiconductivity and exhibiting high photoluminescence and electroluminescence efficiencies is provided. Electroluminescent and other devices comprising the polymers of the present invention are also provided. The present invention relates generally to the field of conjugated polymers, and more particularly to a new class of conjugated electroluminescent polymers useful as semiconductor materials, such as in electroluminescent devices. The present invention is useful in a variety of applications (e.g., semiconductor thin-layer devices (e.g., LEDs, transistors, photodetectors, and solar cells) and electrochemical devices (e.g., storage batteries, luminescent electrochemical cells, and electrochemical sensors).
