An arrangement for controlling the content or growth of microorganisms in a fluid, comprising: a) a zeolite having micropores loaded with an agent, wherein the agent has an affinity for the zeolite micropores; Comprising a zeolite having antiseptic properties and b) the fluid, wherein the zeolite and the surrounding fluid are at least partially in contact or arranged to provide at least partial contact. Placement. The fluid contains molecules having a defined affinity for the zeolite that is larger than the zeolite's micropores and lower than the agent. The fluid contains a therapeutically active compound or composition in a therapeutically effective amount and concentration, and the total amount of agent in the zeolite is greater than the amount corresponding to the preservative level for the fluid. . Also disclosed are methods, uses, and zeolites for controlling the content or growth of microorganisms in a fluid. |
