A method for directly treating myocardial tissue at a site of a cardiac site exhibiting a pathological condition. The method includes identifying a target site in the myocardium and applying the substance directly and substantially to at least only the myocardial tissue at the target site. The applied material causes a physical change in the mechanical properties of the tissue, including consolidation. Various devices and embodiments are disclosed that implement methods for consolidating, inhibiting, or forcing myocardial tissue to address situations such as myocardial infarction or mitral regurgitation. |
