Provided. Alternatively, the method can be used to partially block aortic blood flow to condition the spinal cord that secretes neuroprotective agents before repairing an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Partial occlusion of the vessel can be achieved by a device comprising an elongate catheter 102 and a distally provided inflatable member 104. Inflatable member 104 may include one or two balloons. Other medical devices, such as angioplasty catheters, stent catheters, or atherectomy catheters can be inserted distal to the inflatable member to form a therapeutic intervention.
