Intradermal needle |
abstract |
An intradermal needle assembly attached to a prefillable container for intradermal injection of a substance into an animal includes a needle cannula supported on a hub portion. The hub portion is configured to receive a prefillable container immediately prior to performing an intradermal injection. The limiter portion surrounds the needle cannula, extends away from the hub portion to the front tip side of the needle cannula, and includes a skin contact surface, the needle cannula having a direction at a constant angle with respect to the plane of the skin contact surface; Preferably it is almost vertical. The skin contact surface is received in contact with the skin of the animal performing the intradermal injection. The anterior tip extends beyond the skin contact surface a distance that allows the needle cannula to pierce the dermis layer of the animal's skin, allowing the substance to be injected into the dermis layer. |
