abstract |
Controlled release additive compositions for use in aqueous systems. The composition has a core comprising at least one additive component and a coating of a polymer encapsulating the core. The modified release additive composition slowly releases the additive component into the aqueous system, providing an effective concentration level of the additive component over an extended period of time. A liquid displacement system (10) is provided for introducing additives into the open recirculation system (18) or the closed loop boiler water system in a regulated manner. The liquid displacement system (10) has a make-up line (12) and an additive system (14) disposed therein. Make-up liquid enters the make-up line (12), where the additive system (14) directs the controlled release of additive components to the open recirculation system (18) or closed loop boiler water system. It is configured to provide a replenishing liquid to carry. |
