Method for detecting chronic dementia disease, related peptide and detection reagent |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method of quantifying peptides defined in a biological sample from a patient suffering from Alzheimer's disease and their concentration compared to the concentration of said peptide in a control group. The invention further relates to the use of said peptides for therapeutic purposes. The peptides according to the invention originate from a protein precursor with the corresponding gene, have been treated in a special way and have been modified in a post-translational way. Changes in the concentrations of these peptides indicate the presence of Alzheimer's disease. The direction of the concentration change is specific for each of these peptides. Alzheimer's disease is detected by identifying these peptides individually or in combination. The present invention can also be used to manage the course of Alzheimer's disease, for its prognosis, and to develop effective therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease. |
