abstract | A device for treating a mitral valve condition of the heart, comprising a mitral valve treatment device, a guide wire and a guide tube. The mitral valve treatment device is configured to reshape the mitral valve annulus of the heart when placed in a coronary vein adjacent to the mitral valve annulus. The guidewire is shaped for insertion into the coronary vein of the heart adjacent to the mitral annulus. The guide tube has a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending between the distal end and the proximal end. The guide tube includes a side opening between the distal end and the proximal end and communicating with the lumen. The side opening allows a guide tube to be slidably received over a guide wire extending from the distal end through the lumen and out of the side opening. In use, the guide tube slides along the guide wire into the coronary vein. Thereafter, the mitral valve treatment device is delivered by the guide tube into the coronary vein adjacent to the mitral valve annulus. [Selection diagram] FIG. |
