abstract Flexible cover (30) for protecting the joints of the conveyor belt, in particular for protecting the belt fasteners (25) forming the joints. The joint cover includes a body having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, and a plurality of first reclosable fasteners (40) extending from the first surface. The first reclosable fastener engages a plurality of second reclosable fasteners (50) attached to the belt. The second reclosable fastener can be secured to the belt by a belt fastener, by an adhesive or other attachment means, by being integral with the belt fastener, or by being integral with the belt web. . The second reclosable fastener can be any structure that engages, interlocks, fits, or otherwise attaches to the first reclosable fastener. Also provided are a method of making a joint cover and a method of disposing and removing the joint cover above the belt fastener.
