titleOfInvention Modification of fabric fibers
abstract The present invention relates to fibers of fabric substrates and other fiber substrates coated with amine containing polymers. These polymers provide permanent antimicrobial activity, renewable control of certain odors, and the ability to bind certain substances to the substrate surface. The present invention relates to durable finishes for fabrics and other fibrous substrates. The active component of the finish is an amine-coated polymer having reactive groups. These polymers are crosslinked on the substrate fiber surface and form a flexible resinous coating that is durable to cleaning procedures. The reactive group of the amine-containing polymer can be an amine, but is not limited to this functional group.
