abstract |
A novel biodegradable polyneopentyl polyol (PNP) ester-based synthetic ester basestock comprising a PNP ester mixed with a dicarboxylic acid ester coupling agent is provided. The PNP ester-coupling agent mixture is further blended with smaller amounts of additional high molecular weight linear or branched esters, either singly or as a mixture. The final basestock is compatible with standard lubricant additive packages and is miscible with gasoline, with improved viscosity properties, excellent low temperature properties, and improved lubricity, as well as two-stroke engine lubrication. Biodegradable lubricants with improved lubricity for agent applications. |
