titleOfInvention | Method for producing diaryl carbonate |
abstract | In a method for producing a diaryl carbonate by a carbonyl oxidation of an aromatic hydroxy compound using carbon monoxide and oxygen, a liquid stream is taken out from a carbonylation reaction mixture in a reaction vessel (1), and the liquid stream is subjected to reduced pressure. The removal of water during the reaction is accomplished in a process comprising returning at least a portion of the drying liquid stream to the reaction vessel (1). A typical catalyst system for oxidative carbonylation comprises: (A) one or more Group 8, 9 or 10 metals or compounds thereof having atomic number 44 or higher; (B) one or more alkali metal salts. , (C) one or more metal promoters, (D) one or more organic solvents and (E) one or more bases as optional components.
