| abstract | An absorbent garment comprising an absorbent composite material that extends in a longitudinal direction and is extendable in a lateral direction and has both ends and both side regions. The absorbent composite includes a back sheet, a top sheet, and a holding portion disposed between the back sheet and the top sheet. In one preferred embodiment, each of the back sheet and the holding part comprises at least one fold formed along at least one of the side regions on both sides, the folds being folded together. A pair of anterior body panels are attached to the side regions on both sides of the absorbent composite adjacent one of the opposite ends of the absorbent composite, and the two lateral sides adjacent the other of the two ends of the absorbent composite. A pair of back body panels are attached to the area. In a preferred embodiment, the front and back body panels are joined to form a pair of side body panels. A method of using the absorbent garment as well as a method of assembling the absorbent garment is also provided. |
