The present invention describes a rapid method for preparing stem cells and physiologically acceptable matrix compositions for use in tissue and organ repair. Compared to conventional tissue engineering materials, the stem cell matrix compositions of the present invention do not require prolonged incubation or culture in vitro before use for in vivo applications. Stem cells can be derived from a variety of sources and may be homogeneous, heterogeneous, autologous, and / or allogeneic in the matrix material. The described stem cell matrix composition provides professionals with utility in a health care setting, where the stem cells and matrix can be formulated shortly before use, thereby reducing cost and time. Such a manufacturing procedure is reduced. In addition, stem cells provide unique structural properties to the matrix composition, thereby improving post-use results and healing. The use of stem cells obtained from muscle imparts contractility to the matrix composition. |
