abstract The present invention generally relates to photosensitive organic optoelectronic devices. More specifically, it is directed to organic photovoltaic devices, such as organic solar cells. Moreover, it is directed to an optimized organic solar cell comprising a plurality of stacked subcells in series. By manufacturing a photovoltaic cell including a plurality of stacked subcells having optimized thicknesses and using an electron barrier layer, a large power conversion efficiency is realized.
