abstract |
Dissection methods and devices for use in closing a vein for the treatment of venous insufficiency disease are disclosed. The device includes an ablation electrode array disposed between the catheter body and the balloon. According to the disclosed method, a catheter is introduced into the vein to be treated and the balloon is inflated. Blood is dot-washed and aspirated from the location between the balloons. RF power is applied to the electrode array, causing scarring of the vessel wall and eventual detachment of the vessel. |
