abstract Apparatus and method for measuring coagulation time in a fluid, generally blood, in a micropassage, wherein the onset of coagulation is located on both sides of the micropassage It is determined by measuring the rate of change or value of the capacitance or impedance between the two electrodes. A disposable test strip (100) is provided with a fixed upper and lower support (101) and (103). A small passage (102) is formed in the upper surface of the lower support member (103). When the second support layer (101) is attached to the upper portion of the support member (103), the open minute passage 102 is closed. A plurality of electrodes (104) are formed on the outer surface of each support layer so as to be flush with the passage.
