abstract | A method for identifying a Nogo function modulator, comprising: (i) the following (a) to (c): (a) a BACE polypeptide; (b) a Nogo polypeptide; (c) a test agent [wherein the BACE polypeptide (a) is BACE, or a variant thereof capable of binding Nogo, or any fragment thereof, and polypeptide (b) is Nogo, or a variant thereof capable of binding BACE, or a derivative thereof. Any of the fragments] under the condition that the BACE polypeptide (a) and the Nogo polypeptide (b) can bind in the absence of the test drug (c); (ii) The method comprising monitoring the mediated activity; and (iii) thereby determining whether the test agent is a modulator of Nogo activity. Modulators identified by the methods of the invention and the use of such modulators in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a disorder responsive to modulation of Nogo activity, such as acute neuronal injury. |
