abstract |
The present invention provides a method for inhibiting the growth of astrocytes and astrocytic tumor cells. The invention further provides a method of treating a condition associated with a defect in astrocytic proliferation in a subject and a method of treating a condition associated with astrocytic tumor cell proliferation in a subject. Additionally, the present invention is directed to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a CD81 protein or nucleic acid and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Finally, the invention provides a method for determining whether a subject has astrocytoma and a method for evaluating the efficacy of astrocytoma therapy in a subject. |
