Surprisingly, stable olefin polymerization catalysts and cocatalysts formed from hydroxyaluminoxanes have been disclosed. In one embodiment of the present invention, the solid composition is formed from a hydroxyaluminoxane and a treating agent, whereby the OH annihilation rate of the solid composition is reduced as compared to the hydroxyaluminoxane. Also disclosed are gelatinous compositions formed from hydroxyaluminoxanes and having similar stability characteristics. Methods for converting hydroxyaluminoxane to such compositions, supported catalysts formed from such cocatalyst compositions, and their use are described. |
