titleOfInvention Method for simultaneous production and purification of ethyl acetate and isopropyl acetate
abstract The present invention relates to a method for simultaneously producing ethyl acetate and isopropyl acetate. The esterification reaction involves contacting acetic acid with a mixed alcohol stream of ethanol and isopropanol. 2 illustrates the purification of a mixture of ethanol and isopropanol obtained from Fischer-Tropsch. The esterification reaction is performed in a liquid phase reaction system in the presence of an acidic catalyst. The resulting crude reaction step product is separated and purified by distillation to produce an acetate product having a purity greater than 99.5% by weight.
