titleOfInvention Detection of allergen-related materials
abstract Measurement of the redox properties of dust in the home is used to detect the presence of allergen-related materials. The measurement may be electrochemical or, preferably, by amperometry. Disposable electrode assemblies can be made by screen printing with conductive (eg, carbon and Ag / AgCl) inks. The absorbent pad covering the electrode can be used to wipe the surface to collect the sample. It may include components of the electrolyte and buffer so that the sample in the electrolyte / buffer is transported to the electrode by the addition of water.
