titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for reducing impurities in cellulosic fibers for the production of fiber reinforced cement composites |
abstract | A method for producing a high-purity fiber cement grade cellulose fiber will be described. An additional washing step combined with high temperature is used in the process to extensively wash the pulp and remove substantially all COD components remaining in the pulp. The pulp is washed by diffusion and dewatered at high temperature, countercurrent, after the brown stock washing system. During an additional washing step, the pulp is immersed in counter-current heated water for a predetermined period of time to introduce chemicals to chemically decompose the COD components in the pulp and make these components more soluble in the aqueous solution. can do. The additional washing steps can be performed using existing equipment in a conventional pulp mill. Formulations for making fiber reinforced cement composites using low COD high purity cellulose fibers and methods for making fiber reinforced cement composites are also described. Pulp with lower COD content has better performance in producing fiber reinforced cement composites. To achieve the same reinforcement efficiency, a lower amount of low COD high purity fiber is required compared to standard cellulosic fibers. |
