titleOfInvention Method and system for peak parking in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis
abstract Reconfigurable multi-mode post-column analysis systems improve the resolution of liquid chromatography detection by providing a parking or MS / MS detection mode. Here, the column eluent flow is substantially reduced, providing longer analysis times within a single elution detection peak. The microswitching valve provides a normal (MS) mode in which the column eluent passes directly to the MS unit, and a normal mode in which the column flow is interrupted, the gradient is stopped, and the detected peak of interest flows more slowly through the MS unit (peak parking). Or MS / MS) mode. Microsyringe pumps contribute to substantially lower MS / MS flow rates. The MS control unit controls the micro switching valve to reconfigure between MS and MS / MS mode. After the detection peak, the MS mode is restored and the system primary pump returns to normal mode flow and gradient conditions. A mode change can be made for each chromatogram detection peak.
