The present invention employs the process of subjecting a viscous mixture of components having a characteristic viscosity and / or being vigorously mixed to pressure, typically using an extrusion process, thereby introducing gas into the mixture. The present invention relates to a process for producing an air-stable, water-reactive foam component, comprising a polymeric substance and an active ingredient and preferably a liquid, and delivered to an aqueous environment. This method usually requires only a small amount of liquid and requires only limited drying to remove the liquid to obtain the components. Usually, additional gas is injected in the process (in addition to the gas mixture) to improve frothing. The present invention also provides the components obtained by such a method. |
