Scratch resistant peelable finish |
abstract |
Radiation hardened floor finishes containing inorganic particles for workplace applications exhibit improved scratch resistance, but can be removed using release agents. The finish is applicable to multi-piece flooring whose components have a top surface, one or more side surfaces and gaps between the components. The top surface is coated and at least the uppermost portion of the gap is a layer of a releasable cured finish composition comprising a radiation cured polymer and sufficient inorganic filler particles to impart increased scratch resistance to the cured finish. Or it is filled with multiple layers. The finish is also applicable as a release agent permeable coating on a peelable intermediate coating on the substrate. The finish provides a better appearance and easier cleaning than would be finished and placed in a factory. After being placed without removing at least some of the finishing material applied to the factory, it is not possible to sand the floorboard with sandpaper, so on factory-finished floors, between adjacent floorboards There are small differences. In factory finished floors, there are also small cracks between adjacent floorboards that are not sealed with factory applied finish. |
