abstract | An engine fuel additive that improves low-temperature solution characteristics and fuel economy, and a fuel containing the additive are provided. A mixture of (a) a mixed fatty acid ester; (b) a mono- or di- (hydroxyalkylamine) or a mixture thereof; and (c) a mixture of low-molecular-weight esters in an amount effective to enhance low-temperature properties; Wherein the molar ratio of the amine to the total ester content of the mixture is in the range of 10.0 to 1.0]. This fuel additive composition exhibits cleanliness and friction reducing properties when added to fuel, and furthermore exhibits good low-temperature stability. |
