abstract A holographic recording medium is disclosed. The novel holographic recording media disclosed herein comprises a) at least one multifunctional epoxide monomer or oligomer that undergoes acid-initiated cationic polymerization. Each epoxide of a monomer or oligomer is linked to a silicon atom by a siloxane-containing group, and each monomer or oligomer has an epoxy equivalent weight greater than about 300 g / mol epoxide; b) a binder that can assist cationic polymerization; c. A) an acid generator that produces an acid upon exposure to actinic radiation; and optionally d) a sensitizer.
