abstract The present invention relates to a flash lamp (10) comprising a glass-filled discharge tube (10) made of glass and power electrodes (14, 15) sealed at each end by glass solder. The flash lamp comprises a glass, which comprises one or more of the following UV transmission values Tw: at 180 nm Tw> 5%, preferably> 9%, at 200 nm Tw> 30. %, Preferably> 45%, at 254 nm, Tw> 60%, preferably> 80%. The inner diameter (11) of the discharge vessel is 1.2 times larger than the value of the diameter of the plasma channel. The starting electrode (16) is part of, or is electrically connected to, the reflector (30-33). The flash capacitor (42) can be adjusted for a charging voltage of 370 volts or more, preferably 400 volts or more.
