titleOfInvention Tissue-engineered hair platform
abstract A method for stimulating the growth of a large number of new hair follicles on an individual's scalp. The present invention relates to a bioabsorbable platform useful for tissue engineering new hair follicles, a method of making the same and a method of using it in producing new hair. The platform of the present invention preferably comprises a bioabsorbable polymer selected from any of the many types of synthetic and natural polymers commonly used in clinical practice and used in biomedical research. The present invention further relates to methods of making and using bioabsorbable platforms in vivo and in vitro to implant and grow new hair follicles. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
