abstract The present invention provides an acylguanidino derivative of the formula (I): Embedded image Wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , A, B, X, Y and n have the meaning given in claim 1, and their physiologically acceptable salts and prodrugs. The compounds of formula (I) are useful pharmaceutically effective compounds. They are vitronectin receptor antagonists and inhibitors of cell adhesion and bone resorption by osteoclasts. This may prevent them by, for example, based on or affecting the interaction between vitronectin receptors and their ligands in the cell-cell or cell-matrix interaction process, It is suitable for treating and preventing diseases that can be alleviated or cured. For example, they can be applied to treat and prevent osteoporosis or to suppress unwanted angiogenesis or cell proliferation of vascular smooth muscle. The invention furthermore relates to processes for producing the compounds of the formula (I), their use, in particular as active pharmaceutical ingredients, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
