abstract | 【Task】 A rapidly curable material is injected directly into the drum (100) such that the photoreceptor drum (100) is provided with an insert (104) that reduces noise / vibration as the material cures. An insert is provided. Insert material is injected by a reciprocating nozzle (106) during drum manufacture / assembly. By injecting the insert material into the drum as the drum is manufactured / assembled, there is no need to design the insert or procure tools for separately manufacturing the insert. Furthermore, the insert fits snugly inside the drum, since the insert is molded inside the drum. Also, improvements to the insert (eg, to change the mass or size of the insert) can be easily accomplished without modifying the tool. |
