[Problem] To provide a coating method capable of keeping the drying time of a coating solution constant even when the width and thickness of a strip are changed, and a lithographic printing plate produced by the coating method. An application method for applying a coating liquid to at least one surface of a belt-like body and drying to form a coating layer when the belt-like body is wide and thick. The coating method is characterized in that the coating liquid is applied while maintaining the belt-like body at a higher temperature than when the width of the film is narrow and when the thickness is small.
