A method for detecting a nucleic acid containing at least one predetermined base (for example, adenine, guanine, 6-mercaptoguanine, 8-oxo-guanine, and 8-oxo-adenine) is provided. (A) reacting a nucleic acid with a transition metal complex capable of oxidizing a predetermined base by a redox reaction; (b) detecting the redox reaction; and (c) predetermined base. Determining the presence or absence of a nucleic acid from the redox reaction detected in step (a), at least one predetermined base (for example, adenine, guanine, 6-mercaptoguanine, 8-oxo-guanine, and 8-oxo). -Adenine) (for example, DNA, RNA). The method is used in a variety of applications, including DNA sequencing, diagnostic analysis, and quantitative analysis. [Selection] Figure 2 |
