PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificially synthesized verotoxin-binding polypeptide which does not exist in nature. SOLUTION: The polypeptide provided by the present invention has an amino acid sequence consisting of at least the following 5 amino acid residues: Trp or Phe-His or Gln-Trp or Phe-Thr or Ser-Trp or Phe; It is a polypeptide having a binding property to a toxin. A preferred verotoxin-binding polypeptide is an amino acid sequence of the following (1) to (3) containing the amino acid sequence consisting of the aforementioned 5 amino acid residues: (1) Trp-His-Trp-Thr-Trp-Leu-Ser ( (2) Trp-Gln-Trp-Thr-Trp-Leu-Cys (SEQ ID NO: 2); (3) Phe-Gln-Trp-Ser-Trp-Tyr-Thr (SEQ ID NO: 3) Have any.
