Bacterial meningitis vaccine of the glycoconjugate type of multiple oligosaccharides |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel carbohydrate conjugation technique that can be used for preparing a complex carbohydrate in which a large number of oligosaccharides are covalently bonded to the same carrier protein. The provided multivalent immunogenic molecule comprises a carrier molecule comprising at least one functional T cell epitope, and each of which is bound to the carrier molecule and each comprises at least one functional B cell It contains multiple heterologous carbohydrate fragments containing the epitope. This carrier molecule confers enhanced immunogenicity to the carbohydrate fragments. These multivalent molecules are formed by random conjugation of carbohydrate fragments to carrier molecules, or by site-specific conjugation. These multivalent molecules can be used to create vaccines or antibodies for diagnosis. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
