abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient pixel density and a large sensitivity area. A radiographic image is obtained by combining at least two radiographic sub-images acquired by at least upper and lower two-dimensional radiation sensors having sensor pixels. An upper sensor is overlaid above the radiation sensing area of the lower sensor. The overlap is preferably at least two pixel rows, but can be limited to the non-imaged portion of the upper sensor.
