abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound exhibiting excellent lubricant performance, and a lubricant composition. The following general formula (1) (D is a cyclic group, X is a single bond or a divalent linking group, R is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, aryl group, or complex. A lubricant composition containing a compound represented by the following formula: m represents an integer of 2 to 11, and at least one of m Rs contains an ester bond. The following general formula (2) (wherein X 1 to X 3 are single bonds or divalent linking groups, R 11 to R 13 are substituted or unsubstituted alkyl groups, alkenyl groups, alkynyl groups, aryl groups, or heterocyclic rings.
