abstract | A method for quickly and easily isolating RNA is provided. The method includes the steps of suspending a sample in an aqueous solution containing a salt and a buffer and extracting the sample with an organic solvent such as phenol / chloroform under acidic conditions, and recovering RNA contained in the aqueous solution by alcohol precipitation. Methods for isolating RNA are provided. The method is suitable for simultaneous processing and mechanization of multiple samples, since high-purity RNA can be easily and quickly obtained in a few steps. Further, since the sample is not treated with SDS, guanidine thiocyanate, or the like, RNA can be isolated with a high degree of purification even from a starch-rich biological sample. Therefore, it is particularly suitably used for extracting RNA from plant tissues containing a large amount of starch such as seeds. [Selection diagram] None |
