abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a novel solid electrolyte capable of achieving high output with little fuel crossover and a high-performance direct fuel cell using the same. The solid electrolyte is characterized by comprising fine particles having an ionic group on at least the surface, wherein the fine particles advantageously comprise an organic polymer as a main component. , A phosphonic acid group, a phosphoric acid group and a carboxylic acid group. The solid electrolyte is suitably used as an electrolyte membrane in a fuel cell such as a direct fuel cell using an alcohol having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, dimethyl ether or an aqueous solution thereof as a fuel.
