abstract [PROBLEMS] To provide a Gretzel cell having a high photoelectric conversion efficiency and a possibility of low-cost manufacturing, but the conversion efficiency is not yet sufficient for practical use. As a method for improving the conversion efficiency, there is a method of increasing the thickness of a light absorption layer which is a porous layer made of semiconductor fine particles. However, there are problems such as an increase in series resistance and cracking of the film. A conductive substrate, a light absorbing layer made of semiconductor fine particles and adsorbing a dye, and a light scattering layer having an average refractive index smaller than the average refractive index of the light absorbing layer are arranged in this order from the light incident side.
