abstract |
An object of the present invention is to convert low-grade coal, such as high-volatility coal, which was previously unsuitable for a reduced metal production method using a carbon material interior method, into a metallurgical modified coal suitable for the carbon material interior method. Provided is a method for producing high quality reduced metal by using modified coal as an interior carbon material. SOLUTION: The coal is heated and aged in an organic solvent to produce a modified coal for metallurgy 111 having a higher softening fluidity than the coal. The mixture of the metallurgical modified coal 111 and the metal oxide-containing raw material 112 is agglomerated by a granulator 113, and the agglomerate 114 is heated and reduced in a moving hearth furnace 115, and subsequently heated and melted for reduction. Make it a melt. The reduced solidified product is cooled and solidified in a moving hearth furnace 115 to form a reduced solidified product 116. The reduced solidified product 116 is discharged out of the furnace, the slag 119 is separated and removed by a screen 117, and the metal 119 is removed. Collected as reduced metal.
