An object of the present invention is to use a non-halogen flame retardant, more preferably a non-halogen foaming agent, to have excellent environmental compatibility, to improve melt deformation and dripping during combustion, to provide flame retardancy and heat insulation. A thermoplastic resin foam comprising a styrene-based resin and a phenol-based resin, which is excellent in the above, is obtained. The present invention relates to a foam obtained by foaming a thermoplastic resin composed of a styrene resin and a phenol resin using a foaming agent, wherein the thermoplastic resin foam contains a sulfonyl group-containing compound. And a thermoplastic resin foam containing one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a phosphorus-containing compound, a nitrogen-containing compound, a boron-containing compound, and a polyhydric alcohol.
