abstract The present invention provides a special light observation system capable of obtaining an endoscopic observation image in an appropriate imaging mode according to various living body observation sites. A filter rotating plate provided with filters for visible light (normal observation), absorption wavelength of ICG as a medicine, and excitation wavelength is provided on the light source device 5 side. In front of the CCD 32 of the television camera 3 mounted on the mirror 2, there is provided a filter mounting plate 34 on which filters for normal observation, fluorescence observation, and absorption light observation are mounted. It is possible to observe various living body observation sites, for example, it is possible to observe the lung tissue deposited with charcoal powder by using the fluorescence emission characteristic when observing the lung tissue deposited with coal powder.
