abstract | Provided is an electrolytic solution for an electrolytic capacitor having a high withstand voltage, good leakage current characteristics at high temperatures, and good high-temperature life characteristics. SOLUTION: One or more of a polyhydric alcohol complex compound of boric acid or a salt thereof obtained from boric acid and a polyhydric alcohol is dissolved in a solvent mainly composed of ethylene glycol, and 12-vinyl-8-octadecene is dissolved in the electrolytic solution. An electrolytic solution for an electrolytic capacitor to which diacid or a salt thereof is added, having high withstand voltage characteristics, good leakage current characteristics at a high temperature after a high temperature test, and good high temperature life characteristics.
