abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for preparing a multivalent array. SOLUTION: A polymer having at least one potentially reactive group is obtained by polymerizing at least one monomer containing at least one polymerizable group and at least one potentially reactive group in the presence of a metal carbene catalyst. Forming a template; and combining the polymer template with at least one functionalizing agent comprising at least one reactive group, wherein the potential reactive groups of the polymer template are efficiently combined with the reactive groups of the functionalizing agent. A method for preparing a multivalent array, comprising the step of forming a multivalent array by binding under conditions that cause a reaction. [Selection diagram] None
