An object of the present invention is to provide a fine pigment dispersion having uniformity in size, which does not require a long-time treatment by a dispersing device and does not depend on the size of primary particles of a pigment as a raw material, and a method for producing the same. It has been found that the above problems can be solved by an organic pigment dispersion production method for obtaining an organic pigment dispersion in the following steps. (1) A first step of dissolving an organic pigment and a dispersant in an acid or a mixed solvent of an acid and an organic solvent, and then mixing the resultant with water to precipitate an organic pigment, thereby preparing an organic pigment dispersion. (2) A second step of aggregating the organic pigment dispersion obtained in the first step with an alkali and separating the organic pigment dispersion from a solvent. (3) A third step of treating the organic pigment dispersion separated in the second step with an acid. [Selection diagram] None |
