abstract The present invention provides a thermoelectric body having a new structure capable of improving a figure of merit by using a nanoporous body having a new structure, and further provides a manufacturing method thereof. A thermoelectric body according to the present invention comprises a porous body in which a thermoelectric conversion material 1 is formed on a surface of a porous material 2 having a network skeleton. This thermoelectric element exposes the porous material 2 to the vapor of the thermoelectric conversion material 1, infiltrates the porous material 2 with the melt of the thermoelectric conversion material 1, plating the porous material 2 with the thermoelectric conversion material 1, It can be obtained by heating the precursor after infiltrating the precursor of the thermoelectric conversion material 1 into the porous material 2.
