abstract | Provided is a method for stably forming a proof image similar to a print image, including the quality of printing paper, using a digital color proof, particularly a silver halide color photosensitive material. An area gradation in which dots are formed, halftone dots are formed as an aggregate thereof, and a color tone of blue (B) can be set independently of cyan (C), magenta (M), and yellow (Y). In the image forming method, B is reproduced in a color satisfying L * of 17 or more and 50 or less, a * of 7 or more and 28 or less, and b * of -55 or more and -20 or less in a CIELAB color space.
